By creating an account or using BuildAFilm ("the Platform," "we," "us," "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. These Terms apply to all users including writers, directors, producers, actors, financiers, and any other roles offered on the Platform.
BuildAFilm is a professional verification and deal-facilitation platform for the film and entertainment industry. The Platform allows users to build verified profiles, submit credentials for review, list projects, and connect with other verified industry professionals including producers, directors, writers, and financiers.
Verification services include identity verification (powered by Stripe Identity), guild membership confirmation, proof of funds, chain-of-title review, completion bond eligibility, and professional credential review. Verification outcomes are determined by third-party providers and by BuildAFilm administrators.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts to use the Platform. By creating an account you represent that you meet these requirements. Accounts created on behalf of a business or entity must be authorized by that entity.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at support@verifiedreel.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, provide false information, or engage in fraudulent activity.
The Platform is free to use. Creating a profile, browsing, submitting verification requests, messaging, listing projects, and making or receiving offers do not require any payment. We do not currently offer any paid subscription tiers.
You agree to provide truthful, accurate, and complete information when submitting credentials for verification. Submitting false, misleading, or fraudulent documents is a violation of these Terms and may result in immediate account termination and, where applicable, referral to relevant authorities.
BuildAFilm makes no guarantee that all verified profiles are free from error. Verification represents our reasonable assessment based on submitted documents and third-party data — it is not a legal certification or endorsement.
You retain ownership of content you submit to the Platform (scripts, lookbooks, trailers, credentials). By uploading content you grant BuildAFilm a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and use that content solely for the purpose of operating the Platform and providing services to you.
You represent that you own or have the right to submit all content you upload, and that doing so does not violate any third-party rights. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.

BuildAFilm facilitates connections between industry professionals but is not a party to any deal, agreement, or transaction made between users. We are not responsible for the outcome of any financing arrangement, option agreement, co-production deal, or other transaction initiated through the Platform. Users are solely responsible for performing their own due diligence before entering into any agreement.
All Platform software, design, trademarks, and content created by BuildAFilm are the exclusive property of BuildAFilm and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, modify, or distribute Platform materials without our written consent.
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of any verified profile or credential.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BuildAFilm and its affiliates, officers, and employees shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to lost profits, lost data, or damage resulting from reliance on verification outcomes or user-to-user transactions.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BuildAFilm and its team from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your use of the Platform, your submitted content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. You may request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting us at support@verifiedreel.com.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify active subscribers of material changes by email. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
